A commercial sauna is a revenue-generating facility, and in hospitality it is also a reputation-defining amenity. Guests judge hotels and gyms by the quality of their wellness facilities, and a sauna that heats slowly, smells of damp timber, or breaks down frequently drives memberships and bookings elsewhere. Refitec Kenya provides professional commercial sauna installation services in Nairobi and throughout Kenya, building hotel, gym, lodge, and spa saunas engineered for heavy daily use, fast heat-up, and low lifetime operating cost.
Why Commercial Saunas Differ from Home Saunas
A hotel or gym sauna may run for twelve hours a day and host hundreds of bathers weekly. That duty cycle demands commercial-grade heaters with higher kilowatt outputs, thicker wall sections with superior insulation to shorten recovery between sessions, benches built from dense, durable timbers, and finishes that tolerate constant humidity, cleaning chemicals, and occasional misuse. It also demands professional planning of ventilation, safety systems, and control placement so that staff can operate the facility confidently. Refitec Kenya specifies every component for continuous commercial duty, not domestic convenience.
Facilities We Serve
Our commercial installation portfolio serves a wide cross-section of Kenyan businesses. We install saunas in hotels and resorts, including guest amenity blocks and spa suites; in gyms and fitness clubs, where members expect saunas as standard; in apartment and residential developments offering shared wellness amenities; in lodges and camps in tourism regions; and in health clubs, salons, and wellness centres. Each facility type receives a layout matched to its bather volume, from intimate four-person hotel saunas to twelve-person installations for flagship health clubs.
Our Commercial Installation Approach
We start with a technical survey covering room dimensions, structural capacity, electrical supply, and ventilation routes, and we coordinate with your architects, main contractor, or facilities team as needed. We then present a design with bench layout, heater specification, door position, and finish schedule, together with a programme of works that fits your renovation or construction timeline. Our construction crews build the insulated shell, line the interior, install benches, glass doors, lighting, and ventilation, and fit the heater with its dedicated electrical supply and controls. Before handover, we run the sauna through full heat cycles, train your staff on operation and daily care, and provide documentation for your maintenance team.
Compliance, Safety, and Guest Comfort
Public facilities carry obligations that private installations do not. Our commercial saunas include clear internal and external signage, emergency internal door releases, hour meters and timers to prevent unattended overnight operation, guard rails around heaters, and lighting rated for the hot environment. We design airflow so that the room stays fresh through a long day of use, and we can integrate fragrance systems and chromotherapy lighting for a premium guest experience.
Minimizing Business Disruption
We understand that a closed facility loses money. Our teams work in phases around your operating schedule, use fast-curing materials where possible, and commission rooms quickly so that amenities reopen on programme. For new builds, we align our installation calendar with your main contractor to avoid delays at project completion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Facility managers often ask about warranties and documentation. Every commercial installation includes commissioning records, operating instructions for staff, and a workmanship warranty, and we can align service intervals with your existing preventive maintenance calendar so the sauna receives the same disciplined care as the rest of your plant.
