Home wellness has become one of the fastest-growing investment areas for Nairobi homeowners, and the residential sauna sits at the centre of that trend. A home sauna delivers relaxation, muscle recovery, and a private retreat from the pace of city life. Yet a residential sauna is only as good as its installation: an undersized heater, poor insulation, or amateur wiring will turn your sanctuary into a disappointment. Refitec Kenya specializes in residential sauna installation in Nairobi and across Kenya, delivering turnkey home saunas that heat quickly, run efficiently, and last for decades.
Where Homeowners Install Saunas
Our residential installations fit into a remarkable variety of spaces. Common projects include converting a spare bedroom into a compact two-person sauna, carving a sauna alcove from a large master bathroom, installing a sauna inside a home gym for post-workout recovery, and building freestanding garden saunas beside pools and patios in Karen, Runda, Gigiri, and Kitusuru. We also install infrared sauna cabins for clients who prefer lower-temperature, radiant heat sessions. Each location presents different conditions of space, ventilation, and power supply, and our survey identifies the best approach before any work starts.
Our Residential Installation Process
We begin with a home visit to measure the space, check wall and floor construction, and confirm electrical capacity at the distribution board. We then agree on the sauna design: interior dimensions, bench arrangement, heater type, door style, and finish, always explaining the practical implications of each choice so you decide with full information. On installation days, our team constructs the insulated sauna shell, lines the interior with heat-stable timber, installs benches, tempered glass door, lighting, and ventilation, and connects a dedicated electrical circuit for the heater. We commission the sauna to full temperature, demonstrate the controls, and hand over with clear guidance on care and safe use.
Heating Options for Your Home Sauna
Refitec Kenya installs the full range of residential heating solutions. Electric sauna heaters are the most popular choice in Nairobi homes, offering clean, adjustable heat with simple wall-mounted controls. Wood-burning heaters suit garden saunas in areas where an outdoor flue can be fitted, delivering the traditional soft heat and pleasant aroma of burning wood. Infrared panels suit clients seeking gentler sessions at lower temperatures with very short warm-up times. We advise honestly on which option matches your space, usage habits, and running-cost expectations.
Efficiency, Safety, and Neat Work
Because your home is your most personal environment, we work cleanly and respectfully. We protect floors and furnishings, contain dust, and leave work areas tidy each day. Our installations use high-grade insulation and vapour barriers that keep heat inside the sauna and moisture out of your walls, and every electrical connection is tested and certified. The result is a sauna that reaches bathing temperature quickly, costs less to run, and gives no trouble to the rest of the house.

Frequently Asked Questions
Homeowners often ask whether their home’s electrical supply can support a sauna heater. Most residential installations in Nairobi proceed on existing capacity after verification, and we confirm this during the survey rather than after work begins. Another common question concerns timing: most home saunas are fully installed and commissioned within one week.
