Sauna Sand Timer Supply, Nairobi Kenya
The sauna sand timer is one of the most enduring traditions in sauna culture. Long before digital controls and smartphones, sauna bathers timed their sessions with sand timers, allowing roughly fifteen minutes of warmth before stepping out to cool. Today, the sand timer remains both a practical session guide and a classic decorative feature of the authentic sauna wall. Refitec Kenya supplies genuine sauna sand timers in Nairobi and countrywide, completing home saunas and equipping hotel, gym, and spa facilities.
The Role of the Sand Timer in Sauna Practice
Traditional sauna guidance suggests sessions of ten to fifteen minutes in the heat, followed by cooling and rehydration, with several gentle rounds making a complete sauna experience. The sand timer supports this rhythm without electronics: bathers simply turn the timer as they enter, and the falling sand measures the session. In commercial facilities, timers are also a wellness tool for staff and guests, encouraging safe session lengths rather than open-ended stays that risk dehydration and discomfort. Unlike clocks and phones, a sand timer belongs in the sauna environment, tolerant of heat and humidity, silent, and entirely in keeping with the room.

Choosing and Positioning Your Timer
For a home sauna, the 15-minute classic timer in a timber frame suits almost every interior and is the traditional choice. For hotels and gyms, robust wall-mounted rotating timers, positioned where guests can read them from the benches, are the practical standard, and matching complete wall sets present a professional, curated appearance. Timers should be mounted away from the direct blast of the heater and within comfortable view of the upper bench. Our team advises on positioning, matching, and quantities, and can supply timers in bulk for facilities with multiple rooms.
